Research
Primary Research:

Based on the results of my survey my target 82.1 % of the responders are of the age of 16-18. This makes me aware of what style of video my audience will enjoy and what visual limitations there are. Knowing this will also help me to see what kind of videos this age group likes to watch. For example, if my target audience was 30-50 years old I would choose to make a documentary since that age group is known for watching documentarys.
89.3% of my target audience knows what Ai is. As the majority knows I will not need to educate my audience about what Ai is generally. Knowing this will help me target my video to a specific audience that already has some knowledge about Ai which means I wont have to explain what Ai is in my video.

Based on the survey 92.9% of the participants claim they use Ai. This tells me that they are familiar with how to use Ai. Additionally it tells me what

The majority of my target audience mostly uses AI to research as they are at the age where they need to write essays

I feel this is a clear and accurate representation of what sorts of aesthetics my target audience would like to see. I researched some of the references that they included, such as opium. The opium aesthetic is a style that has been "adapted and created based off the rapper blay boy carti. It consists of wearing all black and photos seem to look very distorted and dark.

This idea goes with a broader and more careful approach seen in the survey, where people appreciate AI's benefits but are not sure about the limits of its use.

What aesthetic would you like to in an Ai-related short film?

Survey respondents voiced diverse preferences for the aesthetic of an AI-related short film. The themes/asthetics included utopia leading to dystopia, cyberpunk, horror, colorful and fun, modern and sci-fi, opium, and a Sci-Fi similar to Black Mirror. Some suggested a mix of old/vintage movie aesthetics with a random creation of AI, similar to Back to the Future. Other themes included techno, creepy, animation, corporate, modern shots with clips from before AI, futuristic like the video game Detroit (Become Human), Kurt Vonnegut (an American author, known for his distinctive writing style and satirical approach to storytelling), vintage retro adventure, scientific, cyber, dystopian/scary, and a cyber aesthetic (sci-fi). Some suggested a high contrast between light and shadow, creating a moody atmosphere with different colored lights, resembling a cyberpunk aesthetic as well as the opium aesthetic. There were also preferences for a funny but not forced video to keep viewers entertained and engaged. Knowing this will inspire me, help me build ideas for my video and will drive me to make a video about AI tailored to my target audience

If Ai was a character in my short film how do you think it would look like ?

In my survey, Many people imagine AI taking on various appearances. Some see it as a normal robot, referencing the little robot from ET, while others picture AI as a computer or a more ominous, robotic figure. There are mentions of lifeless beings, socially awkward characters like Sheldon (Young Sheldon), and even manipulative and intelligent beings. Some respondents want AI to transition from a good character to an evil villain, while others see it as a smart, unknowing kid with abilities. The appearance could range from a human-like robot, referencing the young girl from Tomorrowland to a computer with a face, or a futuristic animatronic. There's also the idea of a tech-savvy, robotic entity. Overall It seems as if the most common response was a robot. This helps me visualize what my AI Character could look like and having the references could inspire me with the making of the character. I highlighted "Various Appearances" because It had me thinking about how AI is not a real person or robot but more of an entity living in a bed of code and It learns from us and can be anything.

Is there anything you would want me to include in my Ai video ?

The survey responses suggest a range of elements that viewers might want to see in an AI-related video. Several participants expressed an interest in a depiction of a futuristic city that still looks plausible in the present day to enhance realism. Some wanted a focus on themselves in the video, while others suggested featuring a small and cute robot, possibly used on a laptop with people smiling. The dual nature of AI, encompassing both its positive and negative aspects, was a common theme. Some participants requested the inclusion of educational content explaining what AI is and how it works, highlighting its rapid data processing. There were also diverse suggestions, including incorporating a picture of a puppy, blue hair, and cute robots. Notably, some participants suggested a focus on the potential dark side of AI, including its capacity to take over the world. Additionally, there were requests for sound effects, a timeline showcasing how AI has changed lives, and a creative presentation recorded during nighttime or in a dark setting. The survey also indicated a desire for individual credits. Finally, a concluding emphasis on the importance of society's independence from technology was suggested. Overall, the responses showcase a mix of creative, educational, and cautionary elements that could contribute to a comprehensive AI-related video.

Mood board and references from survey:

I feel this is a clear and accurate representation of what sorts of aesthetics my target audience would like to see. I researched some of the references that the respondants included, such as opium. The opium aesthetic is a style that has been "adapted and created based off the rapper Play Boy Carti. It consists of wearing all black and photos seem to look very distorted and dark. There were many mentions of robots such as the Terminator (half man half robot) which works very well with the Ai theme as Ai pretends to be human but it's also a robot. Movie themes such as horror, dystopia, and utopia, stood out on the survey and these movie themes work very well together. When mixing dystopia and horror. Both deal with initial fear, lack of control, often one enemy, and a cliffhanger. Dystopia is very futuristic and in the survey, people feared that ai might take over or cause big changes. When it comes to cinematography my target audience wanted light contrast as it creates an eerie and futuristic look to the scene, its slightly similar to the opium effect. Many want to see a vintage retro style video. I like the contrast of really futuristic technology such as Ai but in a vintage environment.

My Opinion:
I beleive that Ai is a new technology that will change our future completely. Just like the first phones the technology kept getting better and better and it is still being developed further as we speak. We haven't even scracthed the surface of the potential of Ai technology. Currently, in public, there are many AI sites available; some generate images, create websites, write essays, and emails, answers questions, edit videos, create videos, animate, design, and are even able to make dead singers sing modern songs all by giving the ai prompts. AI itself is not bad, I believe as it improves we will discover many new things that we never thought of due to AI's high intelligence. Combining AI and medicine could potentially save millions of people's lives. The main dilemma we might face when ai becomes more and more advanced is misuse of. In all public ai sites, there are restrictions where some things will not be answered or done. The issue with this is that someday (probably already happened) someone will figure out how to turn off restrictions or will copy an AI program and create their own for malicious intent. The big concern is that AI could be used criminally to steal people's identities, easily hack software or hardware, or be used to find ways to create deadly weapons or drugs. But all this was inevitable. Sadly we live in a world where a lot of people do harm or are active in illegal activities. Just like any new invention there will be people who will use it irrisponsibly. I think it is an important tool but should be used to make already existing things better and not to be used to try and replace them and replace the need for humans. At the end of the day ai uses prompts from human and doesn’t think for itself meaning jobs will still exist but they will consist of plotting in prompts which I think will slowly strip culture away from us and make us all monotone robots. However It is extremely useful in some cases, it’s difficult to draw a line at where the uses should be stopped.

Emotional Marketing
This Is a Music video from the album Little Dark Age; "When You Die by the band MGMT. Artistically, MGMT is known for its psychedelic and surreal visuals, both in its music and album artwork and music videos. The band often incorporates colorful and abstract imagery that complements the dreamy and psychedelic part of their music. The visual aspect of their music/art contributes to creating a distinctive and immersive experience for their audience. This music video immediately reminded me of Ai AI-generated videos because of the psychedelic patterns changing and morphing into other scenes, people, objects, and places. I've seen this type of special effect on TikTok as it was a trend to confuse people using this effect. I'd be really interested to experiment with the effect as I could use it in my video to possibly make a video imitating AI-generated videos. I also could see myself using this effect to make the audience feel a sense of confusion but to also represent how AI works or looks. Making the AI change patterns constantly represents that AI is absorbing everything. For example, in the video, there was a character pouring these blue cereals but he then slowly turned into the blue cereal.
I also really liked the use of repetition in the video. In the video, the character wakes up and performs a show and then he wakes up again and repeats but small details change, and things start to move.
I like the dramatic gestures and movement of the faces in this AI Generated video. There are a lot of random scenes that make the viewer question what exactly is going on. I find this style really interesting to watch because of the unpredictability and the trashy but sophisticated when it comes to some of the characters of this video. It looks like an interpretation of the Futuristic/dystopian style of the 80's. It has that vintage and old feel but it also looks futuristic. What grabbed my attention was the perfection of the scenes and the smoothness of everything, It reminds me of Wes Anderson's style as the colors are very monochromatic and the workers in McDonald's characters are very chique and dramatic when it comes to the face and makeup.

I really like the fake mask aesthetic and the creepy dystopian vibes. I also like how they look like dolls it reminds me of robot chicken. I also like the stop motion but I don't want to repeat myself.

The use of emotional marketing was used many times in this AI-generated Video. The AI advert exaggerates almost everything in this video which gives the video a dystopian aesthetic as nothing seems real. The big proportion of the food is very unrealistic but it's done to make the food look appetizing. Throughout the video, you can see that people's smiles are stretched and exaggerated to show that people are very happy being in McDonald's.

This video is a compilation of 80's technology. What caught my eye was the goggles
Initial Ideas
Masks:

Seeing from an AI perspective, the AI is portrayed as an entity whose appearance is unknown. In the video, the AI is depicted as a character wearing a mask with a human face. This represents the AI's attempt to mimic or pretend to be human. The process of creating the human-like face involves using materials such as mod rock or paper mache to craft a face cast.
The concept further explores the idea of the AI having numerous masks. In interactions with different people, the AI switches between these masks, presenting itself as a different persona for each individual. Alternatively, the AI may possess a collection of masks, with the last one being the most human-like and refined. In a montage, the AI removes these masks, revealing its true nature. As each mask is taken off, the faces become progressively less realistic, more deformed, or indicative of errors. This visual progression symbolizes the evolution of AI, starting from a more refined and human-like state and gradually revealing its development over time.
Fashion:

Imagine a world where artificial intelligence (AI) completely transforms how we approach fashion. In this creative tale, AI takes over the role of shaping fashion trends, making traditional fashion designers a thing of the past.
The story unfolds in a society where people no longer wear physical clothes. Instead, everyone wears special AI goggles that create virtual outfits and accessories on the spot. This big change in how we dress has a significant impact on jobs in the fashion industry, leading to many layoffs as AI algorithms replace traditional designers.
The main character in our story is a former fashion designer adjusting to the new reality of AI dominance. As the protagonist navigates this unfamiliar world, we explore the emotional and professional challenges faced by those who once thrived in the fashion industry.
The AI in charge of creating fashion trends is portrayed as a powerful force that understands what people collectively like. It designs and shares virtual clothing directly with consumers, making physical stores and traditional fashion shopping unnecessary.
"Bodysuits" become the new standard – a simple and widely accepted form of attire generated by the all-powerful AI. The story delves into the outcomes of this fashion revolution, questioning how society sees individuality, expression, and creativity when fashion choices are determined by computer algorithms.
"Fashion's Futuristic Makeover" serves as a thought-provoking exploration of what could happen when technology reshapes something as personal and expressive as our clothing choices.
Parallel stories:

In this story, we follow different people from various parts of the world, each using artificial intelligence (AI) in their own way. One person is just curious and uses AI to learn new things and discover interesting stuff. Another person, living in a big city, enjoys using AI to create art and music, finding happiness in the things it helps them make. But, there's also someone doing bad things with AI, using it for crimes that threaten the safety of the digital world. Lastly, there's a student in a busy university who tries to skip studying and cheat on tests using AI. This story explores how AI affects people differently – bringing joy, curiosity, problems, and challenges – and makes us think about how we use technology in our lives.
Parallel story and masks:

Seeing from an AI perspective, the AI is portrayed as an entity whose appearance, sound, and behavior are unknown since it doesn't physically exist. In the video, the AI is represented by a character wearing a mask with a human face, symbolizing the AI's attempt to mimic human interactions. The mask is created using materials like mod rock or paper mache for the video.
The narrative unfolds in one setting using a split-screen technique to divide the scene and characters. The AI wears different masks, each time interacting with different people who represent various use cases for AI, including criminal, fashion, research for school, and everyday use. The video aims to blend comedy with a special "unsettling" aesthetic, maintaining a serious tone, especially in the context of fashion.
A hidden meaning in the video emerges as the AI seems omnipresent. When users close the ChatGPT app, the AI disappears from the chair, a nod to old movies where things would appear or disappear. Later in the video, the AI is revealed behind the people who used it, visible through the camera app.
Inspired by theater techniques, the video incorporates cross-cutting or split-screen, a technique borrowed from film editing. In this case, two or more scenes are performed on stage simultaneously, allowing the juxtaposition of scenes happening at different times or places. This technique enables smooth transitions, unique shot movements, and creative ways to convey different moods and settings without changing physical locations.
Research into split-screen techniques draws inspiration from films like "Talk to Me" and "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again." In "Talk to Me," the location remains constant, but the mood and lighting change dramatically, creating a visually captivating scene. Similarly, "Mamma Mia! 2" uses split screens to transition between rooms without cutting, conveying emotional distance between characters.
