VIKTOR'S PORTFOLIO
INSECTS
This project was an extension to the Anatomy themed project but taken in a different direction.
These sketches were ideas for my final design. I was inspired by many things such as moths, moth wings, moth-distressing clothes, coocons, and comics. When diving deeper into the moth-distressing clothes theme I wanted to incorporate my colorful yellow layered textile. I wanted to have a range of designs each focusing on a different aspect and having a different silhouette for almost each outfit. The second design was inspired by a moth cocoon. I attended a butterfly garden and got to take pictures for inspiration. I really liked the shape of the cocoon incorporated into the dress. The awkward length of the dress was done on purpose to represent power/ confidence, something about the dress cut below the knees represents confidence for me.
ANATOMY INSECTS SKETCHES
This project was an extension of the Anatomy project. After finishing my final piece for the Anatomy-themed exam I wanted to extend my project. As I was thinking of ways to extend the anatomy project I realized that the intestines on my dress reminded me of worms. I decided to do some research on worms which led me to millipedes which then led to me to other insects until i was interested in the marks insects leave behind and what patterns some leave I remember that moths distress clothes uniquely which made me dive into the theme of moths.

MOTH DRESS
The dress itself is made very well, although I wish I added a slit in the back in order to walk in the dress easily. The fit on the model is perfect and the dress itself looks good. Some design changes I would have liked to see would be the volume of the dress. I would have also added more layers to the design to make the dress look more interesting. To me this dress is nice but I wish I had represented insects/ moths more. Making the cocoon silhouette would have made this dress more interesting and it would have been more obvious that it is bug-inspired. What makes this moth inspired is the color and the colorful layers representing moth distressed clothes in the dress. The furry neck collar is also inspired by moths as moths have furry antennas which adds another element of moth.
